Why JenerOS exists

Three simple ideas guide everything we build.

Less e-waste

Lots of computers get thrown out while they still work. A home server does not need to be new or fast. JenerOS gives an old PC a useful job for years to come.

Your data at home

Your photos and files belong to you. With JenerOS they live on a machine in your home, not in someone else's cloud. We never see them.

Simple for everyone

A home server should not need an expert. One install, one dashboard, one update button, in plain words that kids and grandparents can follow.

Open source, for good

JenerOS is free software under the GNU General Public License 3.0 or later. Anyone can read the code, check what it does, and build it themselves. It is built on Debian, systemd and other open-source projects, each under its own license.

JenerOS is an early preview. We say plainly what works today and what is still coming. Ideas, bug reports and fixes are welcome on GitHub.
